Hubby Brian and I like to go out on New years day for a dip in the Firth of Forth its a local tradition and called The Loony Dook !
I like to watch the local mackerel fiesta with my hubby who fishes for them in which is where an effigy is paraded through the streets and then burnt i thanks for a good fishing season. It’s becoming a bit of a tradition and is a good excuse for dressing up, music and revelry.
I’m from Nottingham – home of the famous ‘Goose Fair’ Great for all ages though this year simply strolled around with my other half, enjoying the atmosphere and the wonder on the kids faces. A dish of mushy peas with mint sauce is a must…..
I love the Royal Cornwall Show here in Cornwall. I would visit with my grandson, Mylor and of course we would have a real Cornish pasty each for lunch!

Bristol is close to Bath and has an annual hot air balloon fiesta at Ashton Court which I grew up very close to. I’d love to go on a trip in a hot air balloon with my family

We have a carnival month that I love. Bat walks,live music and a parade to end it.
What a lovely watch! Where we live, in Lincolnshire we have the Lincolnshire sausage and also the town we come under (Spalding) is famous for its bulbs – our area is even called South Holland! I’d love to share a Lincolnshire sausage and a bunch of tulips with my daughter, Madeline!
Every year Edinburgh Taxi drivers and their taxis get dressed up and take children with special needs to the East coast for a fabulous day out. A wonderful sight to see

In my home county of Dorset, they have the ‘Dorset Knob throwing Contest’ a very quirky local tradition. A Dorset Knob is a type of very hard, small bread roll, baked by a local bakery company in Morecombelake, Dorset. The Throwing contest is as it sounds and is an annual outdoor event, I would love to do this with visitors from abroad – they would find it very amusing I am sure. LOL :-)

In my town we have an annual coal carrying race – 20kg for women, & 50kg for men. There are veteran’s races, and even a children’s race! It takes place on Easter monday every year, and the race runs from a pub, to the village green. I’m not sure I’d really want to do it, but if I did, I’d take part with my hubby – he’s a delivery driver, and used to heavy loads!

In Moulton a village in Cheshire….every year people dress up in Crow costumes…they are called The Moulton Crows
they roll cheeses down a hill not too far away from here but I haven’t taken part!

Every year Glasgow Taxi drivers donated their time for free to transport the kids with additional support for learning needs and there families to a trip to Troon. The drivers get dressed up in fancy dress and some even decorate the taxis. This is a tradition that has been running for over 70 tears.
Exeter still holds Plough Sunday at the Cathedral on the first Sunday in Januarty to celebrate our long farming traditions and welcome in the new agricultural year.
Morris Dancers are still very popular here in Hampshire, especially on May Day when they dance at dawn although I never get up in time to watch them! Maybe I need a new watch to help me remember the time!

During the Summer Carnival since 1913 Devizes has had a Confetti Battle tradition. Thousands gather to throw confetti and rose petals. It starts with a cannon firing and then everyone goes mad. Its so colourful and so much fun

Don’t think this part of North Essex does anything very unusual but there is an annual duck race which I’ve never been to, but if I did I’d go with my husband. Shame I don’t live in Dunmow where they do cheese rolling!
